4-WEEK REDUCTION PRINTMAKING COURSE

This is a reduction relief process using a single plate which is carved of each successive layer of colour
Introduction to the method of multi layered printing using a single block
Learn how to carve an image into linoleum safely using various nib sizes
How to create a variety of lines from very thin to bold thick lines
Learning how to mix colour
Introduction to the use of water base inks
Using proper registration techniques to create consistent prints
Participants carve into a 8 x 10 lino plate
Participants encouraged to bring inspiration in the form of sketches or photos
At the end of 4 week period produce a limited edition of 10 prints and an artist proof

Students introduced to a linocuts creating an edition of 10 black and white prints as well as an artist proof
Students will be introduced to the carving process on linoleum creating a variety of line qualities using various sizes of nibs used to make marks in the linoleum
All materials and paper for the course are included in the price
